What it is
Subdomains
Subdomains is the number of subdomain hosts the hosting account can create, such as shop.example.com or staging.example.com, under a domain already on the account.
This add-on raises that count. It does not add a new root domain. The live catalog sets the price you pay at checkout.

Why it matters
Staging, a shop, or a blog often live on a subdomain instead of a second hosted website slot. When the plan is out of subdomain slots, you cannot add another host in the control panel.
Extra subdomains is for that limit. Pick it on the order form if you already know you need more than the base plan allows.
Where you use it
Choose subdomains on the order form when you create the account, or add them later from the client area if the catalog still offers it.
After checkout, create the extra subdomain in the control panel. Shared plans on this page list the base subdomain count that this add-on extends.
